The 2026 Golden Pearl Mixology Contest invites the UK's most visionary bartenders to explore the synergy between traditional Taiwanese botanicals and modern cocktail culture.

FAQ

Do I need to be a professional bartender?

Bartenders, mixologists, hospitality professionals and beverage creators are all welcome to apply.

Can I use my own ingredients?

Yes. However, at least one ingredient of Boba Formosa from the official Competition Kit must be included in your serve.

Can I use alcohol-free or low-alcohol serves?

Absolutely. Creativity is encouraged and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic serves are welcome.

Can I submit more than one drink?

No. Each participant may submit one official entry only. But you are welcome to use our ingredients to create as many as you want.

Can teams enter?

No. Entries must be submitted individually.

Can I edit or repost my content after submission?

Minor edits are acceptable before the submission deadline, but the final submitted content must remain publicly accessible throughout the judging period.

Who owns the content created during the competition?

Participants retain ownership of their content. However, by entering the competition, participants grant Boba Formosa and official partners permission to repost and use submitted content for promotional purposes with appropriate credit.

Who covers travel expenses for the Grand Final?

Travel arrangements for finalists will be communicated directly with selected participants following the finalist announcement.

Is there an entry fee?

No. Entry to the Golden Pearl Awards is completely free.

What happens if I am selected but cannot attend the Grand Final?

Unfortunately, finalists must be available to attend the London Grand Final in person.

What can I win?

The 2026 Grand Prize includes a return flight ticket to Taiwan sponsored by China Airlines, alongside additional prizes to be announced.
